FAQ

Do you answer questions by email or phone?

No. All project‑specific questions require a completed Intake Form and a paid Diagnostic Consultation. This ensures I have the correct context before advising and protects you from incomplete or inaccurate guidance.

Do you offer free consultations?

No. All consulting is paid. My work involves risk evaluation, compliance review, sequencing analysis, and oversight — these require professional time and expertise.

Can I hire you without filling out the Intake Form?

No. The Intake Form is mandatory. It establishes your project stage, permitting exposure, and risk profile. I cannot accept a project or schedule a consultation without it.

Does the Owner‑Builder Handbook come free with your services?

No. The Handbook is a separate, standalone product. It is not bundled with consulting, and consulting is not discounted for Handbook purchasers. The Handbook is a pre‑engagement resource, not a substitute for professional services.

If I buy the Handbook, does that guarantee you will take my project?

No. Purchasing the Handbook does not create a client relationship or guarantee acceptance. All projects must go through the Intake Form and qualification process.

Can I get a discount if I buy the Handbook and hire you?

No. My pricing is fixed and non‑negotiable. Discounting professional oversight would undermine the integrity of the service and the risk I assume on your behalf.

Can you look at my plans, drawings, or permit documents before I pay?

No. Reviewing plans or documents is part of a paid Diagnostic Consultation. I cannot review or comment on any project materials outside that structure.

Can you tell me what order to do things in?

Not without a Diagnostic Consultation. Sequencing depends on your jurisdiction, scope, permitting status, and existing conditions — all of which must be evaluated first.

Can you tell me whether I need a permit for my project?

Only after reviewing your Intake Form and project details. Permit requirements vary by municipality, scope, and classification.

Can you tell me if my contractor is doing something wrong?

Not without reviewing your project through the Diagnostic Consultation process. I do not provide off‑the‑cuff opinions about contractors or workmanship.

What if I don’t have the budget yet?

You may still complete the Intake Form. I will review it and advise whether your project is appropriate for future engagement. However, I cannot provide free guidance or partial consulting while you prepare.

How do I get started?

Complete the Intake Form. If your project is a good fit, you will be invited to schedule a paid Diagnostic Consultation.

Can’t AI answer these questions for me?

AI can provide general information, but it cannot evaluate your property, interpret field conditions, understand Palm Beach County permitting, or identify the risks that only decades of hands‑on experience reveal. Construction is physical, legal, situational, and consequence‑driven. AI cannot see workmanship, sequencing conflicts, hidden defects, or liability exposure.

For project‑specific guidance, professional consulting is required.
